In a nutshell, mindfulness is awareness—in-the-moment, nonjudgmental awareness. It’s a natural skill that can be developed with practice, one that we sorely need in our fast-paced, stress-filled, noisy world. If you want to experience increased productivity, better quality relationships, improved health, or a deeper sense of well-being, mindfulness is an ancient practice that can transform every area of your life.
This is an eight-week course based on the principles of mindfulness developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn. Participants will gain a new relationship with stress and increase the ability to live in the present as they learn how to apply the timeless principles of mindfulness to the unique challenges of life today. Dr. Laura will guide you through meditation, gentle yoga, group discussion, and the latest research on mind/body techniques.
You’ll gain the ability to focus, build awareness, and increase your power of concentration—skills that you can then apply in practical ways to your daily life.
Mindfulness can transform your daily commute, interactions with work colleagues and clients, parenting skills, and your relationship with food. Your mental and physical health will improve along with your ability to truly enjoy the present moment. You’ll ask better questions of yourself and gain a newfound confidence to cope with everyday stress.

Eight weeks consisting of two and a half hour classes and one all-day retreat

All class participants attend a complementary orientation, which gives you a firsthand taste of mindfulness. This allows you to better understand the course, and explore whether the program is right for you.
